What is the Midlands Centre?
Keeping in touch with friends and professionals in television is becoming more important in these days of fragmentation. What better way to do so than by joining the Midlands Centre of the Royal Television Society.
The Centre provides an ideal forum where members can discuss the current developments in their own fields, learn more about the work of others and discover the latest developments in technology and equipment. People of diverse interests and of all ages and experience are encouraged to join us.
Throughout the year, we hold a series of lectures, discussions, workshops and visits on a wide range of subjects, all relevant to television. They reflect the interests of the membership and include productions, technical, craft and topical general interest items.
These meetings are always free at either BBC Mailbox or ITV in Gas Street, with other venues for special occasions.
The prestigious Dinner and Awards Presentation which is held in October presents 13 awards which cover all the main categories of TV production. The Centre also presents its highly regarded Baird Medal to an individual who has shown an outstanding contribution to television in the Midlands.
The Midlands Centre extends to cover more eastern counties, adding Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Liecestershire and Lincolnshire to the existing Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire.
For further information on membership, please contact Secretary Gerry King via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
