Nick Jones and Nellie McQuinn
Nick and Nellie will be speaking at Writing and Filming for Digital Media on Wednesday, 11th February at BBC Mailbox, 6.30pm for 7pm start. Both speakers are from Grass Roots Media and they will be tackling traditional dramas vs online dramas. But first, let’s get to know a bit more about Nick and Nellie.
Nick has written, directed and produced a number of short films. He set up Grass Roots Media in 2005. In addition he has made two romantic comedy micro-series, The Script and the Rose and The London Affair, the former commissioned by the BBC. He’s had five scripts short listed for funding by the film council and has participated in a wide variety of writing and directing courses. He has worked for Pathe and alongside the BBC. He is collaborating in a future project with the BAFTA winning editor Trevor Waite and highly notable actor, James Cosmo. Nick is currently working for Back Row Productions in a management role.
Nellie has been employed in many aspects of film and television since 1993 when she made her television debut at the age of seven. Starting her career in Australia as a professional actress, she moved to London to work as a Marketing Associate for Clear Channel Entertainment. She then moved to Back Row Productions. Nellie joined Grass Roots Media in 2006. Both in front of and behind the camera, Nellie has been fortunate enough to work on productions such as Ron Howard’s The Da Vinci Code, The Bill, The Catherine Tate Show, Eastenders as well as working with such artists as Groove Armarda, Ministry of Sound, Razorlight and more. Nellie is currently working at Back Row Productions as international production coordinator for Priscilla Queen of the Desert the musical which is coming to the West End in March this year.
